To The Voters and Supporters:
As a young boy growing up in Durham, I vividly remember all of the fun times. The times playing basketball at Walltown Park and the ping pong tournaments at the recreation center where my aunt Debbie worked. It was during those moments where life seemed to progress slowly due to the encouraging atmosphere. The recreation center was a safe place to release the pressures of school and life in a constructive manner for me. Nowadays, there is limited involvement with the community centers due to narrowing budgets under which they operate. Our children deserve the right to have a positive environment, which allows them to express not only their athletic but creative skills. As a citizen, it is our responsibility to afford these liberties to them. It is now time for all citizens of Durham, to stop turning a blind eye to those issues that do not occur within our individual communities. Meaning, the focused should be broaden to encompass every community within the city. If every Durham citizen joins me and comes together to embody this ideal, we will see a true spirit of community, respect and empowerment. At this point, is where I believe the City of Durham will restore it’s belief in Community First. I welcome every Durham citizen to stand by me in restoring a sense of Community FIRST! I as well solicit all of your prayers, support, and most importantly, your VOTE as the potential Mayor of this great city. “It does not take a monetary donation to create change nor revive a belief; the maximum requirement is for you only to be involved in the process” – Steven Williams |
